| WHAT IS - FIRST TEAM? | Producer/Director/Writer Steve McCurdy Explains |
| In the former Strategic Air Command, First Team was an honor bestowed on only two officers per base world wide. They were invited to SAC Headquarters in Nebraska and brought deep "inside" America's nuclear strategic plan. TWS FIRST TEAM that group of individuals who are in on the production of the picture from the beginning through their support of the picture. As members of TWS FIRST TEAM you will be privy to production decisions, casting decisions, shooting schedules, etc. You will be "a part" of the production. |

TELL US THE STORY. |
In the 1974 a power-mad Soviet General takes an irrevocable and reckless action that drives NORAD and the Strategic Air Command to high alert. Nixon is in a do-not-disturb meeting leaving the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense to handle a volatile and escalating situation with their hands tied. Meanwhile, at Whiteman Air Force Base, a young missile launch officer, Lt. Gray Crawford, puts two and two together. Unless he is completely mistaken, missiles are being brought to full alert - meaning Soviet missiles may already be in-bound. Under strict orders to "survive any attack" he and his wife head for the relative safety of Kansas, but enroute he becomes aware of informetion the launch control centers do NOT have that will influence the outcome of the incident and likely will stop World War III. But, it may cost him... everything.

WHY DID YOU WRITE IT? |
The event had lingered with me for years. On the one hand the "DO NOT DISCUSS" order that landed immediately after it occured prevented us from discussing it among ourselves and that alone kept us from "processing" the trauma. But once I learned from other officers on duty that night what THEIR experience was, I decided that writing the story would be a cathartic release of the tensions and would honor the heroes of the cold war - the silent sentinels of the Strategic Air Command and the citizens of the area who had endured nuclear weapons in their back yards - but who also stood up and helped when crisis was emminent.
